Day and night sees two different sides of this awe-inspiring landmark. During the day the glorious carvings bask in the sunlight showing off the intricate skill with which they were created as tourists stand to watch, gelatos dripping. Then at night, as the crowds disperse, the fountain becomes a quiet dream. Standing as a soldier for a golden city whilst the few people that remain sit and ponder in the glow of the water. (And throw a coin or two over their shoulders).
